Summary

Top Value Traded ranks securities by the total monetary value of eligible trades recorded during the selected period.

It shows where the greatest amount of money has changed hands, rather than which securities have produced the largest price movements.

Why it matters

Traded value is a useful measure of market activity because it considers both the price of a security and the quantity traded. It can help investors identify securities with significant trading interest or liquidity during the selected period.

It may be more informative than volume alone when comparing securities with very different prices.

How it is calculated

Value Traded = Sum of Trade Price × Trade Quantity

The ranking is based on the eligible trades included in the selected market, date, session, and other active filters.

How to read it

A higher ranking indicates that a larger monetary amount was traded in the security. High value traded may be associated with stronger liquidity, investor attention, a large transaction, or an important market event.

Value traded does not show whether buyers or sellers were more influential, because every completed trade has both a buyer and a seller.

Things to keep in mind

A single large transaction can materially affect the ranking. Results can also differ from rankings based on volume, number of trades, or price movement.

When comparing securities traded in different currencies or markets, check the currency and whether any conversion has been applied. Value traded is not the same as market capitalization or company value.
