Plaza Centres recommends €250,000 interim dividend despite softer earnings

Half-year figures approved

Plaza Centres plc has approved its interim financial statements for the six months ended 30 June 2026 and recommended a net interim dividend of €250,000, equivalent to €0.0098 per share.

Shareholders recorded on the company’s register on 19 August will qualify for the distribution, which is scheduled for payment on 2 September.

Revenue and profit decline year on year

First-half revenue amounted to approximately €1.50 million, down from €1.60 million in the corresponding 2025 period. Operating profit decreased to €721,939 from €856,030, while profit before tax fell from €930,721 to €750,467.

Profit for the period was €514,989, compared with €689,225 a year earlier. Earnings per share consequently declined from 2.7 cents to 2 cents. Cash and cash equivalents nevertheless rose to approximately €1.68 million at the end of June.

Occupancy remains high

Plaza reported occupancy of 90 per cent at 30 June and said discussions were ongoing concerning vacant areas. The company continues to invest in customer experience, energy efficiency and tenant-mix optimisation.

The board is also progressing a share buy-back programme and monitoring liquidity ahead of the September 2026 maturity of €4.9 million in unsecured bonds.
