Two short-term government securities admitted to trading

Two new Malta Treasury bill issues with a combined value of just over €50 million began trading on the Malta Stock Exchange on 11 September 2026.

The larger issue, worth €44.229 million, has a 91-day term and matures on 10 December 2026. It carries ISIN MT3100018683 and trading symbol B2650, with an average weighted price of €99.4430 per €100 nominal.

A second issue, valued at €5.828 million, has a 182-day term and matures on 11 March 2027. It carries ISIN MT3200017429 and trading symbol C2710, with an average weighted price of €98.9678 per €100 nominal.

Short-term government borrowing reaches the secondary market

Both issues were settled by the Treasury on 10 September before being admitted to trading on the Exchange the following day.

Treasury bills are short-term government securities typically issued at a discount and redeemed at their full nominal value at maturity. Their admission to the MSE means investors can trade the securities on the secondary market before they mature.
