Merkanti Holding reports €1.73 million first-half loss as AGM resolutions are approved

First-half loss widens

Merkanti Holding plc reported a loss after tax of approximately €1.73 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, compared with a loss of around €548,000 in the same period last year.

Operating income amounted to approximately €1.19 million, while administrative expenses reached €2.86 million.

Interest and similar income fell to €623,276 from around €1.88 million a year earlier. Rental income, however, increased to approximately €919,645, up from €740,317.

Total assets decline to €83.1 million

At the end of June, Merkanti’s total assets stood at approximately €83.12 million, down from €96.21 million at the end of 2025.

Cash and cash equivalents decreased to around €13.18 million, while loans and advances rose to €31.04 million. Total equity stood at approximately €52.06 million, with borrowings amounting to €24.56 million.

Shareholders approve AGM resolutions

Merkanti also confirmed that shareholders approved all ordinary resolutions presented at its annual general meeting held on 31 August.

Shareholders also approved an extraordinary resolution giving the board authority, subject to the terms of the resolution, to issue and allot equity securities up to the Company’s authorised but unissued share capital.

The authority will remain in place until the annual general meeting held in 2031, unless it is renewed, amended or revoked before then.
