Merkanti Holding is finalising bridge financing to settle the delayed interest payment on its 5.7% secured bonds within the 60-day grace period.

Merkanti Holding plc issued an update on 18 August 2026 regarding the delayed interest payment on its 5.7% Merkanti Holding plc Secured Bonds 2033, ISIN MT0002291202.

Bridge financing being finalised

The company said it is finalising bridge financing that would allow it to access proceeds from an asset sale earlier than originally expected.

Merkanti expects the financing to provide the funds needed to settle the outstanding bond interest before the end of the 60-day grace period allowed under the bond’s terms and conditions.

Interest payment remains outstanding

The announcement does not confirm that the delayed interest has already been paid. Instead, it updates bondholders on the financing arrangement being pursued and the timeframe within which the company expects to make the payment.

The latest announcement follows an earlier communication from Merkanti concerning the delay.

Announcement classified as inside information

Merkanti said the announcement contains inside information for the purposes of the EU Market Abuse Regulation. The company referred to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1055 and Regulation (EU) No 596/2014.

The announcement was signed by Director Martin Ware and dated 18 August 2026.
