Mediterranean Maritime Hub Finance repays €15 million bonds in full

Bondholders receive full repayment after ten years

Mediterranean Maritime Hub Finance plc has confirmed that its €15 million bond issue has been repaid in full, bringing the ten-year investment to a close.

The 4.8% unsecured bonds, issued in 2016, reached maturity on 14 October 2026. The Company confirmed that bondholders received their full principal investment together with all outstanding interest due up to that date.

The repayment marks the completion of the Company’s obligations under the bond issue, which was originally launched to support the development of the Mediterranean Maritime Hub in Marsa.

Funds secured ahead of repayment deadline

The redemption follows an announcement in September, when the Company confirmed that the €15 million needed to repay investors had been secured and deposited into an escrow account held by Calamatta Cuschieri Investment Services.

This provided reassurance to bondholders ahead of the October maturity date, following concerns over the Company’s ability to meet its repayment obligations.

Company thanks investors for their support

Mediterranean Maritime Hub Finance was established in 2016 to raise funding for the maritime hub, which provides technical, logistics and maintenance services to the maritime and offshore industries.

In its latest announcement, the Company thanked bondholders for their trust and support over the past decade.
