Izola Bank names Edward Grech as Head of Finance and Treasury

New appointment to strengthen management team

Izola Bank plc has appointed Edward Grech as its new Head of Finance and Treasury, effective from 14 October 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

The appointment was announced on 16 October through a company announcement published on the Malta Stock Exchange, as part of the Bank’s obligations under the MFSA’s Capital Markets Rules.

Grech takes on a senior position overseeing an important area of the Bank’s financial operations, including financial management and treasury activities.

Appointment follows earlier management change

The announcement follows the departure of Ali Geren, who resigned from the same position in June 2026, having been appointed earlier in January.

As Head of Finance and Treasury, Grech will also form part of the Bank’s Asset and Liability Management Committee, which monitors financial performance and manages risks relating to liquidity, funding and interest rates.

Regulatory approval still pending

In its disclosure, Izola Bank confirmed that Grech has not held any directorships over the past five years and has no principal business activities outside the Bank.

The Bank also reported that there were no further matters requiring disclosure under Capital Markets Rules 5.20.5 to 5.20.9.

No details were provided about Grech’s previous professional experience or the expected timing of regulatory approval.
