FIMBank returns to profit as first-half earnings reach USD3.2 million
Board approves interim financial statements
FIMBank plc returned to profitability in the first half of 2026, reporting a stronger financial performance compared with the same period last year.
The Bank’s board approved the consolidated and bank condensed interim financial statements for the six months ended 30 June 2026 at a meeting held on 19 August 2026. The announcement was published on the same day.
The interim financial statements were independently reviewed by PwC in accordance with ISRE 2410.
Profitability rebounds from 2025 loss
The FIMBank Group recorded a profit after tax of USD3.2 million, marking a turnaround from the USD1.8 million loss reported in the first half of 2025.
Profit before tax from continuing operations reached USD4.3 million, compared with a USD0.9 million loss in the corresponding period last year.
The improved performance was supported by stronger income across the business. Net interest income increased by USD6.4 million, or 31.2%, while operating results from the non-trading portfolio rose by 60.3% to USD26.8 million.
At the same time, fair-value losses related to legacy investments fell significantly to USD0.3 million, from USD4.5 million a year earlier.
Capital position and asset quality remain strong
FIMBank also reported an improvement in asset quality, with its non-performing loan ratio falling to 1.73% from 1.90% at the end of December 2025.
The Group’s Total Capital Ratio stood at 19.8%, remaining comfortably above its regulatory minimum of 15.48%.
FIMBank noted that the proposed acquisition by Jordan Kuwait Bank remains subject to regulatory approval, while the planned disposal of Egypt Factors is still ongoing.
Despite the Group’s return to profitability, the interim report stated that no reserves were available for distribution.
