Convenience Shop shareholders approve resolution linked to potential share sale
Shareholders approve proposal at extraordinary meeting
Shareholders of The Convenience Shop (Holding) plc have approved a resolution allowing the Company to share confidential financial information with investors interested in buying a significant stake in the business.
The decision was taken during an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 16 October 2026, following earlier interest from prospective buyers.
Interested buyers to review company information
In September, The Convenience Shop announced that several interested parties had approached existing shareholders about a possible share sale.
At the time, discussions were still at an early stage, and no agreement had been reached.
Following the shareholder vote, interested buyers can now access confidential company information to assess its financial position and decide whether to proceed with an offer.
This process, known as due diligence, allows buyers to examine a company’s finances and operations before making an investment decision.
No sale agreement reached
Although shareholders have approved the resolution, the Company has not confirmed any sale or change in ownership.
The identity of the interested buyers remains undisclosed, while no details have been provided about the possible value or size of a transaction.
The Convenience Shop, which operates and franchises convenience stores and supermarkets across Malta, said it would continue informing the market of any significant developments in line with regulatory requirements.
For now, the approval allows discussions with interested investors to move forward, but any potential transaction remains uncertain.
