BNF Bank appoints Glen Smith and Tiziana Bugeja to senior executive roles

Glen Smith appointed Chief Banking Officer

BNF Bank plc has appointed Glen Smith as Chief Banking Officer and Tiziana Bugeja as Chief Risk Officer, with both appointments taking effect from 1 September 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Smith brings more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services and previously served as BNF Bank’s Chief Risk Officer.

In his new role, he will oversee the Bank’s retail, commercial and corporate banking activities, together with customer experience, business development and strategic banking initiatives.

Tiziana Bugeja becomes Chief Risk Officer

Bugeja has more than 17 years of experience in banking and has spent the past 15 years with BNF Bank, most recently serving as Head of Risk.

Her background includes enterprise risk management, treasury, financial markets and regulatory compliance. She also has experience in investment portfolios and asset-liability management, as well as advising boards and executive committees on risk-related matters.

Appointments subject to regulatory approval

Both appointments are subject to approval by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

BNF Bank also confirmed that there are no matters concerning either Smith or Bugeja that require disclosure under Capital Market Rules 5.20.5 to 5.20.9.

The appointments strengthen two important areas of the Bank’s senior management structure, covering both its core banking operations and overall risk oversight.
